A

the age of imperialism was a period in time the the power between noble man and the monarchs began to change and no longer used feudal system. this was in the sixth century. Also a part of the age of imperialism was to create colonies to bring wealth and prestige to the mother land.

what is a feudal system

A

this meant that countries had monarchs, but power was spread out to the nobility. Nobles ruled over large estates and peasant worked for the nobles or paid them taxes for use of the land. This system made is almost impossible to move up in the world. people were often born into their social classes and stayed there.

A

for cultures to live side by side they must view themselves as equals. This is why the Europeans could not co-exist with the First nations peoples. they view themselves as superior and thought they would help them by colonizing them to be more like themselves.

A

in the early sixteenth centaury a mutual beneficial relationship was built. The Euro gave trade goods that made first nation lives easier. First nation people helped early settlers survive their lands. this brought agreements and alliance and the creation of metis people. However by the eighteenth centaury once the Euro colonies were stable a power imbalance was made. they wanted land and would not tolerate co-existence. this created a clash
