An Apple ID is the account used to download and manage content purchased from the App Store.

To install an app from the App Store:

Open the App Store.

Search for an app or browse by category.

Download the app. While the app is downloading, a progress indicator appears on the Home Screen on top of the app icon.

For free apps, tap Get and then tap Install. Free apps that offer in-app purchases will note this next to the Get button.

For paid apps, tap the app’s price and then tap Buy.

A previously purchased app will appear as a download button. Tap the button to redownload the app.

Apps can be rearranged, removed from the Home Screen, or deleted from the device with a long press on the app icon.

An app’s page in the App Store will include a description, reviews, and, in the App Privacy section, information on what data may be tracked about the user.

Jamf Pro administrators can deploy apps to devices or restrict specific apps from being downloaded on devices.

Apple School Manager and Apple Business Manager allow organizations to purchase and distribute apps and books in volume.
