Lesson 3 Flashcards

1
Q

What is the key limitation of normal distributions?

3
Q

Why is it good to have a large sample size?

A

smaller SD and therefore the data is more reliable.

Q

What would a -3.00 skewed value indicate?

A

More extreme values above to the right. Severely skewed and data is reliable.

6
Q

Why are z scores useful?

A

Allow us to compare data points that are not similar or were not calculated the same way.

Q

How do you know whether to use a small area or larger area for the calculated z score?

A

If the blocked area is more than 50% of the distribution - use the large area and vice-versa.
