to give credit for something to a specific cause or person
ex. In 794 he appears to have caused the death of the king of east anglia though some accounts ascribe the murder to his brother.
amenable (Adj).
willing to agree or to accept domething that is wanted or asked for.
ex. The doctors were to teach the faithful in sound learning, to guard puritu of doctrine, and to be amenable to discipline.
charisma(n).
a spiritual power or personal quality that gives an individual influence or authority over large numbers of people.
dearth(n).
an inadequate supply; scarcity; lack.
ex. There is a dearth of good teachers in today’s world.
demoralize
v
to deprive (a person or persons) of spirit, courage, discipline, etc.; destroy the morale of. ex. The continuous suffering she went through demoralized her completely.
ebullient(adj).
lively and enthusiastic.
ex. The ebullient bride made every one laugh with her jokes and stories.
entrepreneur(n).
a business man.
ex. The entrepreneur set off into the real world, ready to sell his product.
fatuous(adj).
foolish or silly.
ex. She broke up with him , believing he was too fatuous because of the stupid prankshe played.
harbinger(n).
something or someone who hints something or someone is coming.
ex. Thunder is a harbinger of a rainstorm.
homogenous(adj).
all the same.
ex. The twins were called homogenous because they dressed alike and looked alike.
incumbent(adj).
obligatory or mandatory
ex. It is incumbent on the government to give a clear lead.
matriarchy(n).
a society in which the mother is the head of the family, not the father.
neophyte(n).
a beginner, recent convert to something and not yet very familiar with it.
ex.He was a neophyte to the track team and had the slowest times.
prerogative(n).
an exclusive right or a privelege.
ex.
The teache ended the test ten minutes early since it was his prerogative.
sibling(n).
Ex. Someone who has the same parents as you.
ex. Vivek and Smitha are my siblings.
