Explain: You are the light of the world.
As Christians we should show attitudes that reflect Jesus. Jesus taught us to be the light of the world where we show the world what you have and let them see and glorify our heavenly father. Two examples Jesus gave are: City built on the hill is visible to others; Light placed on the lamp stand instead of under the bushel will be more useful and visible for others.
Explain: Giving alms in secret or your left hand should not know what the right hand is doing.
We should give alms or give charity to those who deserve. If we do, we should do it in secret. In the church or synagogue we should not proclaim what we do in charity, so that we should not seek praise from others for doing charity or giving alms. Our heavenly father will reward us if we do charity in secret as he instructed us.
Explain: loving your enemies
Jesus said that we are supposed to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. It is easy to love those who love us, but if someone treats us unfairly we should still treat them with kindness and love. Jesus prayed on the cross for those who persecuted him.
Explain Jesus’ take on anger and murder
According to Jesus, anger is the factor that separates human beings. Anger causes friction between humans resulting in murder, insult, and family feud. Those who commit murder will face judgment. Those who are angry with his brother or sister will also face judgment. Those who insult his siblings should stand before a council.
