Q

What are 5 examples of transducer care?

A
  1. Store in clean areas in holders/transducer racks
  2. Keep the cords off of the floor
  3. Wipe the probe and the cord between each patient

Q

A
  1. 5% hydrogen peroxide
  2. CAVI-wipes ***
  3. Preempt
17
Q

What kind of sterilization should you use for invasive transducers?

A

Let the transducer soak in solution for x minutes

  • CIDEX
  • Recert
18
Q

What are 4 examples of an invasive transducer?

A
  1. Transvaginal transducer
  2. Transrectal transducer
  3. Transesophageal transducer
  4. Catheter mounted transducer
19
Q

Why do we use invasive transducers?

A

It gets us much closer to the tissue so we get a higher resolution

20
Q

Why are we able to use high frequency without worrying about attenuation with invasive transducers?

A

Because since it is invasive you are lowering the distance therefore you are lowing the attenuation

21
Q

What are side lobes?

A

Additional beams of lower intensity on with side of the transducer

22
Q

What are side lobes considered?

A

Artifacts
