The synonym closest to our use of the term natural health in this course is holistic health.
Define the term holistic.
An approach to well-being that is holistic; that is, it addresses the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—in terms of the physical, environmental, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social aspects of that person’s lifestyle. It is holistic, too, in that it promotes a partnership between patient and practitioner in the healing process. It emphasizes prevention over cure and treatment of the causes, not just the symptoms, of disease.
What are the principles of natural health?
Natural health is based on the premise that the body has a natural ability to protect and heal itself from sickness, given the right support. It teaches patients to take responsibility for their own health and to strive for—above and beyond the treatment of disease—the state of optimal health.
Name the practices of Allopathic medicine.
Allopathic medicine focuses on the elimination of physical symptoms, emphasizing the part rather than the whole, and a primary care approach based on drugs and surgery.
Does the population have full belief in Allopathic medicine?
Despite the tremendous advances allopathic medicine has made in the diagnosis and treatment of many acute and life-threatening illnesses and injuries, a growing number of people feel it has failed to help them deal with chronic conditions, such as high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes, that are often the result of lifestyle imbalances.
