Q

What happened to the Indigenous of Canada?

A

The European imperialists had little regard for indigenous people’s relationship to the land. This led them to displace the indigenous to make room for new settlements, railways, mining, lumbering, and plantations. The disregard for indigenous people’s lives, beliefs and traditions left legacies of disrupted cultures and communities.
