What was the “Scramble For Africa”.
The invasion, occupation and division of the African continent by European powers beginning around 1875 or 1885. This occurred during the era of New Imperialism, the colonial expansion of European countries, the U.S.A., Russia and Japan in the 19th and 20th centuries. Different European countries made claims on African territories to secure their claim to the natural resources.
When did the colonization of Africa take place?
The 1500s.
Who blocked the Europeans from colonizing Africa?
The power of the Ottoman Empire in North Africa and The King of Ethiopia blocked a lot of European powers from colonizing until 1815.
When was the Berlin Conference and what happened at it?
