What is the Origin of the sternomastoid?
Sternum and clavicle
Where does the sternomastoid attach to at the skull?
The mastoid process
What is the sternomastoid’s nerve supply?
Spinal accessory nerve XI
What is Torticollis and what does it lead to?
It’s a sternomastoid spasm, leads to abnormal head posture
Which pulse palpates along the sternomastoid?
Carotid pulse
Which border of the sternomastoid does the carotid pulse palpate?
Anterior
Where does the Platysma muscle lay?
In the superficial cervical fascia
Where does the Platysma muscle obtain it’s innervation?
Facial nerve
