Q

BP is an ____________ measure because you can’t measure the actual pressure in the heart when its contracting and filling that’s really not feasible so its an indirect measure

Q

If you just put a stethoscope on your arm am I going to hear anything NO! why am I not going to hear anything its just flowing… you won’t hear anything until you inflate that cuff and it occludes the brachial artery and then as you release the pressure in that cuff then you start to hear it again and its just based on normal flowing your not going to hear anything it’s the pressure and it’s the resistance that is made by inflating the cuff that will allow you to hear the blood pressure and so the air into the cuff raises the pressure in the cuff.
