what 2 theories are there that explain how people interact with new technology?
- technology acceptance models (social and cognitive factors)
- human need theories (motivation)
what is the technology acceptance model (TAM) about?
this theory states that the percieved usefulness and the percieved ease to use determine the attitude towards the technology
what is perceivesd usefullness?
the extend to which a user believes a system will enhance job performance (do i gain something form it?)
what is the perceived ease to use?
the extent to which a user believs that system use will be free from effort
what is the subjective norm?
what you think other people will think
what is motivation?
the drive, purpose, cause to start or continue certain behaviour
what 2 ways can you motivate people?
- intrinsic motivation
- extrinsic motivation
what is intrinsic motivation?
enjoyment and percieved usefulness
- satisfaction derived from the task itself
what is extrinsic motivation?
reward or punishment
- money
- esteem
what are hygience factors?
mostly extrinsic factors
- they decrease the performance/ motivation when they are absent
- salary, working conditions, relationships
what are motivator factors?
mostly intrinsic motivation
- increase performance/motivation
- recognition, flexibility, enjoyable work
what is the work design model?
it tells how you can affect intrinsic motivation as an organization
