- we use IT much so we are dependent of it

what is IT needed for to understand?
- behaviour (how to use technology)

what does a computer do?
- does the same as an infromation system. it comes in, processes things and comes out
- can store things
what parts does the processing part of a computer consist of?
- central processing unit (CPU) > processor
- arithmetic-logic unit > does the core arithmetic
- control unit > makes sure the data can flow from one part to another
what parts are there to storage in a computer?
- primary storage
- secondary storage
what is the primary storage part in a computer?
the RAM, the storage a computer uses in real time, when you shut down the computer this storage will be lost
what is the secondary storage in a computer
the hard drive, saved after turning the computer down
what does binary mean in computers?
all data is visualized in number one or two. this is due to the origin where they were made on the idea that everything can be either turned on or off
what does Moore’s law state?
we continue to innovate so we can put more information into a computer
what different kinds of computers do we know?
- clients > end-users (phone, laptop)
- servers > computers that provide servers to other computers (storage, database)
what is a network device?
devices that make sure computers van communicate with eachother
what are examples of network devices?
- access device > used to access to a network
- interconnection device > used to make connections between devices
- mesh network > a network and connection device in one (googlee home)
what is cloud computing?
a model of computing in which a computer processing, storage, software and other services is provided in a shared pool of virtualized resources.
what are advantages to cloud computing?
- always access
- pay-as-you-need
- easy collaboration
- unlimited storage
what are some disadventages to cloud computing?
- security
- trust
- loss of knowledge
