Lecture 8 (2/12) Flashcards
Ventricular System
2 Lateral, 1 third, 1 fourth ventricles interconnected by the foramen of monro and the cerebral aqueduct.
CSF Transfer Route
From the lateral ventricle to the third through the foramen of monro
From the third ventricle to the fourth ventricle through the cerebral aqueduct
From the fourth ventricle to subarachnoid space through the foramen Magendie
Auditory Information Route
The lateral lemniscus gets its information from the cochlear nuclei (they’re connected)
auditory information goes from the lateral lemniscus to the inferior colliculus
From the inferior colliculus to the medial geniculate body
From the medial geniculate body the information goes to the auditory cortex
Arcuate Fasciculus
The wire that connects Broca’s area to Wernicke’s area.
Parts of the Corpus Callosum
Genu - front
Rostrum - Medial
Splenium - Posterior
