What does the anterior compartment thigh do?
A
Flex hip and extend knee.

Adduct hip.

Extend hip, flex knee.

What are the hip flexors?
A
Iliacus, psoas major, pectineus and sartorius.

What are the knee extensors?
A
Quadriceps.

What muscles make up the quadriceps?
A
Rectus femoris, vastus medialis, vastus lateralis and vastus intermedius.

Where does the iliacus run?
A
Iliac crest, fossa, ala of sacrum, anterior sacroiliac ligament –> Psoas tendon, lesser trochanter.

What nerve innervates the iliacus?
A
Femoral nerve (L2, 3).
