Q

What are the three layers of the urogenital diaphragm?

A
  1. Superior layer of fascia (deep, blends with perineal body and membrane).
  2. Sphincter urethrae and deep transverse perineal muscles.
  3. Inferior layer of fascia (Superficial, the perineal membrane).

Q

Are the layers of the urogenital diaphragm joined?

A

Fuse anteriorly, with a small gap near the pubic symphysis. Posterior layers fuse with each other, membranous superficial fascia and the perineal body.
