Lecture 6- circulation Flashcards
1
Q
What are the two divisions for lymphatic drainage? Where does each drain to?
A
- The right side of the head, neck, thorax and right arm
- The rest of the body
- This drains to the right lymphatic duct then the right subclavian vein
- The rest of the body drains to the thoracic duct then to the left subclavian vein

Q
What are the total volumes of fluid filtered out of the capillaries per day? and the volume reabsorbed per day?
What happens to the unaccounted for volume?
A
24L/day filtered out
- 4L/day reabsorbed
- 6 L unaccounted for. This is found in peripheral tissues and collected by the lymph vessels and returned to the blood.
