1- H2O2 oxidises the selemnol of Se Cys forming a selenic acid (SeOH)

2-Glutathione molecule (R-SH) reacts with selenic acid to form Se-SR intermediate and watr

3-Another glutathione molecule reduces the Se-SR intermediate back to the selenol releasing oxidized glutathione (R -S-S-R)

4- Oxidised glutathione is restored by NADPH dependent glutathione reductase
