culture different from the dominant culture and is not necessarily bad

cultural ideas that align with society ideals
what is secondary socialization?
learning culture from sources apart from family and friends like social media

when you move to a new place and you feel like you don’t fit into the new place and your original place
what is cultural diffusion?
transfer of beliefs from one society to another
what is globalization?
integration of culture making the world a more interconnected place

constant change and adaptation to constantly changing culture

when the outputs are feed back as inputs because of a chain reaction

becoming numb because of consumption of to much information

media is in the hands of a small group of people like CTV and CNN and it is highly profitable for them

what is hegemony?
when dominant groups maintain their dominant position
what is cultural imperialism?
when one society’s media exerts unilateral influence over another society
what is tribalism?
tendency to reinforce ideas belonging to your group
what is polarization?
having a lot of opposing opinions about a situation
