What are the factors of Binge-Eating Disorder?
A
- recurrent episodes of binge eating (amount + loss of control)
- eating much more rapidly than normal
- eating until feeling uncomfortably full
- eating when not “physically hungry”
- eating alone
- feeling guilty afterwards
- marked distress regarding binge eating
- average binger frequency must be at least once a week, for 3 months or more
- no use of regular use of inappropriate compensatory behaviours

What is the criteria for Bulimia Nervosa?
A
- recurrent episodes of binge eating (amount + loss of control)
- recurrent inappropriate ‘compensatory’ behaviour
–> purging subtype (vomiting, laxatives)
–> non-purging subtype (fasting or ‘excessive’ exercise) - frequency at least once a week, for 3 months or more
- self-concept unduly influenced by body shape and weight

What is the criteria for Anorexia Nervosa?
A
- restriction of energy intake
- intense feat of gaining weight
- denial of seriousness of current low body weight
- disturbance in perception of body weight or shape
- undue influence of body weight or shape on self-concept
