Q

What is the windsucker test?

A

The windsucker test invovles spreading the vulva of the mare. You should not see much further than 4-5 inches until a barrier is apparent. This barrier is the vestibulovaginal sphincter. If we see an endless dark tunnel, then we know she has a compromised vestibulovaginal sphincter that no longer creates efficient barrier b/w vestibule and vagina, making this functionally one space instead of two.
