Lecture 20 Flashcards
1
Q
Name the 4 regions of the brain.
A
- Frontal lobe
- Pariental lobe
- Occipital lobe
- Temporal lobe
2
Q
Name the sulci and fissure and where they are located on the brain.
A
- Central sulcus (between the frontal lobe and parietal lobe).
- Parent-occipitial sulcus
- Transverse fissure (at the bottom of the temporal and Occipital lobe).
- Lateral sulcus (between the frontal/parietal lobe and the temporal lobe).
3
Q
Name and explain where the major gyri are located.
A
- Pre-central gyrus (on the frontal lobe side of the central-sulcus).
- Post-central gyrus (on the parietal lobe side of the central sulcus).
4
Q
What are the 2 sections of the frontal lobe called?
A
Motor cortex and Pre-frontal cortex.
5
Q
What does the Parietal lobe do?
A
Responsible for sensory information.
6
Q
What does the Occipital lobe do?
A
Responsible for vision.
7
Q
What does the temporal lobe do?
A
Responsible for memory and hearing.
8
Q
What does the motor cortex part of the frontal lobe do?
A
Primary motor cortex - controls voluntary movement.
Pre-motor cortex - involves in planning of movement.
