  • When we are rewarded (or not punished) for previous helping, we will help again
  • When our mood is positive
  • When time permits
  • When someone else helps (modeling): Flat tire, Salvation Army donations, TV telethons
  • When norms direct us to help (reciprocity norm and social responsibility norm)
  • People we like - attractive and similar others
  • Deserving others
