What are the causes of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Developmental (born with tunnel too tight) Trauma Swellings (ganglion, fibroma, lipoma) Inflammatory (rheumatoid, gout, TB) Metabolic (Pregnancy, hypothyroidism)
Name 2 clinical features of carpal tunnel syndrome
Nocturnal pain
Parasthesia in part or all of the median nerve distribution
Wasting of the thenar muscles
How is carpal tunnel syndrome diagnosed
Thenar wasting Previous scars Deformity sensation APB power Special tests: Tinnels, Phalens
What are the symptoms of Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
Numbness on ulnar side of hand and difficult with fine tasks
What is the Froment’s test used to diagnose
Ulnar nerve palsy. If the ulnar nerve is not working the patient will cheat and use FPL instead of adductor pollicies
What are the roots of sciatic nerve

What is the main branch of the sacral plexus
Sciatic nerve
Where does the sciatic nerve exit from
Exits pelvis through sciatic foramen below performs muscle
What are the roots of the common fibular nerve
Rotts: L4-S2
