bony labyrinth is made up of
the vestibule, cochlea, and semicircular canals.
The membranous labyrinth is made up of
Utricle and saccule
responds to horizontal linear acceleration
Utricular macula
respond to vertical linear acceleration.
Saccular macula
The fluid that fills the membranous labyrinth, and is produced by the stria vascularis of the cochlear duct
Endolymph
the fluid that fills the bony labyrinthand is produced bu the hemto-perilymphatic barrier.
Perilymph
is the only part of the inner ear concerned with hearing.
cochlear duct
spiral ganglion
in the modiolus consists of cell bodies of the first sensory neurons in the auditory relay.
Does not respond to gravity.
Moves with the flow of endolymph in the semicircular ducts.
