A

“etho” or ethical appeal comes from the greek word “ethikos”, meaning character. it reflects credibility or an ethical appeal which convinces an audience through the authority or credibility of the persuader.

A

“patho” derived from “path”, connotes emotion in greek language. using pathos means evoking emotions to gain approval from her audience.

A

in 1873, the former governor of california, leland stanford, was convinced that when a horse was at full gallop, all four hooves would be off the ground. he hired famous british photographer, eadweard muybridge, to help him.

A

in 1877, he set up a series of cameras on a racetrack in pall alto california. as the horse sprinted by, the cameras captured the horse in slow motion through pictures.

how was the kinetograph developed?

A

muybridge met eddison in 1888, and eddison saw the potential of the zoopraxiscope. he told his intern, william dickinson to develop a better projector, but he decided that it wasn’t a problem of projection but rather filming.
