When was Hitler’s trial and what happened at the trial?
Hitler and Ludendorff were on trial in February 1924. The trial allowed Hitler to deny treason and pour scorn on Weimar and the Jewish Bolshevists. Sympathetic judges allowed the speeches and these are shown on TV as Hitler became famous. On February 1 Hitler was sentenced to 5 years and Ludendorff got away with no charges.
What prison was Hitler staying at and for how long?
Hitler stayed at the Landsberg prison on a sentence of five years, though he only stayed for nine months.
What did Hitler do while in prison?
While in prison Hitler wrote Mein Kampf. He speculated the creation of a Volksgemeinschaft, the creation of a German people’s community, the abolition of Versailles, Jews eliminated, and Lebemsraum. Hitler had a propaganda success and won support from nationalists, realising that coups did not work and the Nazi party would have to gain support with legal means.
What happened while hitler was in prison?
In 1925 Alfred Rosenberg had caused the party to split. On release, Hitzler convinced the President of Bavaria to lift the ban on the Nazis, and Hitler began to make changes.

Ernst Röhm was replaced by Ernst von Salomon of the SA. Gregor Strasser was set as the Party Propaganda Leader. Goebbels was the Gauleiters of Berlin. He set up the Schutzstaffel (SS) and Hitler Jugund.

Who did Hitler next target and what were the implications of this?
Hitler next targeted peasants and farmers, leading to the party exceeding 100,000 by 1928. However the party seats fell to 12 by 1928. Strasser was replaced as head of party propaganda.
