Q

What is the mesophyll layer divided into? and describe them

A

The mesophyll layer may be differentiated into palisadae mesophyll and spongy mesophyll.

Palisade mesophyll cells are very compact and are usually found beneath the upper epidermis of the leaf.

Spongy mesophyll cells are irregular in shape and are found in the lower side of leaves, have fewer chlroplasts than palisade mesophyll cells.

Q

Which mesophyll layer does photosynthesis occur and why?

A

Photosynthesis that occurs in the spongy mesophyll uses light of a higher wavelength that use by the palisade mesophyll

Q

Describe Chloroplasts and its DNA
