Helps to point team in the right direction and make them feel part of a team.

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs from basic needs (food, sleep) to self-actualisation which is personal growth and fulfilment.
Why is is useful to adjust leadership styles?
- Leader can provide correct support to team.
- The team will feel like they are being listened to
What types of leadership styles are there?
Autocratic
- leader holds all the authority and responsibility
- leaders make decisions on their own
- no work flexibility
Democratic
- Works centred around team ethos
- Listens to others solutions
- Delegates and works as a team
Laissez-faire
- Poor management
- Doesn’t care
- Goes with the flow

Helps to develop employees and ensure they are meeting their personal and corporate goals.
What is a communication plan?
- The target for communication
- How communication will be undertaken
- When communication will take place

Soft - interpersonal - communication etc
Hard - technically focused - excel etc
What is the difference between leadership and management?
Management = direct control over personal / resource.
Leadership = setting a new direction or vision for a team, not associated with an organisational structure.
