Assault
An instance in which someone threatens to cause harm to an individual
Battery
Intentionally touching or the use of force in a harmful manner, without the individual’s consent
Plaintiff
The individual that files a lawsuit to initiate a legal action.
Defendant
The person that is being sued or accused of a crime in a court of law
Subpeona
Written order that commands someone to appear in court to give evidence
Deposition
A formal statement in which the individual who is being deposed promises to tell the truth
Breach of contract
When a party fails to hold up their part of a contract
Tort
An action that wrongly causes harm to an individual but is not a crime and is dealt in civil court.

Medical document that specifies which treatments will be allowed during end of life care.

Allows patients to submit complaints about services provided by staff. It also indicates what medical information a patient can view or have access to
