What must you consider for someone with limited mobility?
A
- Access to building i.e disabled parking, ramp access, if stairs or not
- Access to dental surgery i.e. height of reception desk, adequate space for wheelchairs, door width etc

Define and explain reasonable adjustment?
A
- Any step that can be reasonably taken to prevent a disabled person or impaired person at a disadvantage compared to non-disabled person
- E.g. Providing a ramp in addition to stairs into the practice
- Unreasonable would be place lift in old tenement building

What is Rheumatoid arthritis?
A
- Autoimmune and inflammatory disease so immune system attacks healthy cells which causes inflammation in affected body parts
- Mainly attacks joints and commonly affects hands, wrists and knees
- Lining of joint also becomes inflamed causing damage to joint tissue which leads to chronic pain and deformities

What is Osteoporosis?
A
- Bone disease when bone mineral density and bone mass decreases or when structure and strength of bone changes
- Lead to decreased bone strength that increases risk of fractures

- Stay physically active in weight bearing exercises
- Drinking alcohol in moderation
- Stop smoking
- Take meds prescibed to help prevent fractures
- Eat nutritious diet with calcium and vit D
