Q

On the 767, what effect will a loss of electrical power have on normal or alternate gear extension?

A

With loss of both AC buses, flight beyond 30 minutes may result in complete loss of electrical power and the inability to extend the gear and the flaps. (read: bad day)

Q

What are the various ways the autobrakes can be disarmed?

A
  • Autobrake or normal antiskid system fault
  • Speedbrake lever is moved from the full up position after the speedbrakes have deployed on the ground
  • Either thrust lever advanced after landing
  • Off or disarm position selected on autobrakes selector
  • Pedal braking applied

11
Q

What are the conditions required for the autobrakes to operate during landing?

A

-Normal brakes must be operating (autobrake system also functions on reserve brakes on the 757)
-1,2,3,4, or MAX AUTO selects deceleration rate
NOTE: To maintain the desired deceleration rate, autobrake pressure is reduced as other controls contribute to total deceleration.

16
Q

What’s the meaning of an amber illuminated ANTISKID light on the overhead panel?

A

A fault is detected in the antiskid system.

17
Q

What do Autobrakes 1 through Max Auto provide?

A

A deceleration rate after main gear touchdown.

18
Q

What does an amber illuminated AUTOBRAKES light mean?

A

The autobrakes are disarmed or inoperative.

19
Q

What does an amber illuminated TAIL SKID light mean?

A

Tailskid position disagrees with the landing gear lever position.

20
Q

How does the parking brake system work?

A

Pull- Sets the parking brake when both brake pedals are simultaneously depressed and illuminates the PARK BRAKE light.
Release- Simultaneously depress both brake pedals.

21
Q

When is the alternate gear extend switch used?

A

When directed by the QRH in the event that the (757-left) or (767-right) hydraulic system pressure is lost.

22
Q

Which provides a quicker deceleration, full manual braking, or max auto braking?

A

Full manual braking.
