Describe the operation of the audio control panels.
- push knob to turn respective receiver on/off, rotate for volume
- push MIC SELECTOR for desired communication system
- CABIN/FLIGHT toggles between respective interphone systems
- BOOM/OXY to OXY activates oxygen mask microphone
- BOOM/OXY to BOOM activates pilot headset microphone
What are the cockpit indications of an incoming cabin or ground call?
A chime with a blue GND CALL or CABIN CALL light on the overhead panel
Explain CABIN CALL switch/lights.
Illuminated- indicates a flight attendant call
-resets when call is answered or cancelled
-FWD/MID/AFT also resets when light is pushed
Push- calls selected station
-ALERT calls all stations
Explain GND CALL switch/light.
Illuminated- indicates a call from ground personnel.
-extinguishes after 30 seconds
Push- calls ground personnel as long as switch is pushed.
Describe how to activate/deactivate the oxygen mask microphone.
- boom/oxy switch to OXY to activate the oxygen mask microphone
- boom/oxy switch to BOOM to deactivate the oxygen mask microphone and activate the pilot headset microphone
Which microphones can be used for interphone/PA communication to the cabin?
- handsets
- pilot headset
- oxygen mask
- hand microphone
On some 767ER aircraft, the FLT INT switch on the overhead panel must be selected to communicate with the flight attendants. Describe the use of the FLT INT Switch/light.
Push- interconnects flight and cabin interphone systems
Illuminated- flight and cabin interphone systems are connected
Push again- returns to normal operation, light is extinguished
Understand the operation of the switches on the flight deck aft aisle stand handset.
Cabin call switches (FWD, MID, AFT)- calls respective cabin
RESET switch- cancels a call and resets handset (same as stowing)
PA CALL switch- selects PA system for announcement
PA PUSH TO TALK switch- push and hold to key PA for announcement
ALERT CALL switch- calls all flight attendant stations
