- Military used azimuth.

- A line from any point on the earth surface to the N. Pole.

- The direction to the north magnetic pole, as shown by magnetic compass.
- Shown on a map w/ half arrow.
What is Grid North?
- The north that is est. by using the vertical grid lines on a map.
- Shown by letter GN.
What is a Azimuth?
A horizontal angle, measured in a clockwise manner from a north base line.
What is the Back Azimuth?
The opposite direction of an azimuth.
