Muscles
What are the features of skeletal muscle?
Striated and have long cylindrical cells
Where is skeletal muscle located?
Arms (Biceps and Triceps), Legs (Quadriceps, Hamstrings, Gastrocnemius), Trunk (Rectus abdominis, trapezius, external oblique)
What are the features of cardiac muscle?
Short, striated cells with dark lines which are intercalated discs that connect adjacent cells.
Where is the cardiac muscle located?
Heart Walls (Myocardium)
What are the features of smooth muscle?
Non-striated cells with spindle-shaped cells (tapered ends and a wider middle).
Where is the smooth muscle located?
The digestive tract (Stomach and intestines), Blood vessels (veins and arteries), Respiratory system (bronchi), and urinary system (bladder)
