L8 Flashcards
SIN
Opposite/ hypotenuse
Cos
Adjacent/ hypotenuse
Tan
Opposite/ adjacent
Steps for finding a resultant vector:
- Find sin for y and cos for X of both vectors for
- Add the y Values together, add the X values together
- Find theta (angle/ sand function tan) of the y values together divided by the X values together
- Pythagorean X and Y values to find a squared
any time angle value is negative, add 180 to it
Differentiation
The process to find the time derivative of a variable
Ex) finding velocity based on a position/ time graph
-finding accel based on velocity/ time graph
Derivative is the slope of a graph
Integration
The process to find the time integral of a variable
Ex) finding position based on a velocity/ time graph
-finding velocity based on an acceleration/ time graph
Integral is the area under a curve
Stride length
Distance covered in a stride
Stride rate
Number of strides per minute
Running speed
Stride length X stride rate
What increases running speed/ velocity the most? Ranked: 3
- Increase stride length
- Increased stride rate
- Increase both
Gait has what restrictions?
-slower cadence (steps/min)
-increased support phase of the cycle
-decreased swing phase of the cycle
-shortening step length
