what is meningitis
Meningitis is an inflammation of the menmbrnaes that envelop the brain and spinal cord ( meninges)
Can be caused by viruses usually not life threatnetign, bacteria the most life threatnign and most common, fungal 0 usually in immunocompromised individuals and parasites which are
most common bacteria for meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia
Most common bacterial is Neisseria meningitis’s and haemophilus influenza type b Hib and pneumococcal infections

what is the tumbler test
The tumbler test is a way of checking whether a rash is caused by meningitis/septicaemia. If your baby is ill and gets a new rash or spots, press a clear glass tumbler firmly against the rash.
Tumbler test – non meningococcal meningitis can produce tumbler negative rashes so other symtooms should still be taken seriously

laboratory diagnosis of CSF for bacteria meningitis
cloudy appearance
high protein levels
low glucose
increase neutrophils
Vila - lymphocytes increase , normal or low glucose 3.3-4.4 from
high to normal protein and clear appearance
