Thus increase the levels of
-serotonin, NA and dopamine
What does Moclobemide do?
And Side effects
MAOI
Reversible inhibitor of MAOI- RIMAs
-MAO is inhibited thus tyramine is no longer broken down
-Build up of tyramine -> increase levels of NA
-> hypertension
Side effects
dizziness, nausea, insomnia
-less likely to cause cheese reaction
1 Bipolar Affective Disorder drug
Lithium carbonate
Lithium carbonate
Side efefcts
Main mood stabilising drug

Very toxic
Renal- kidney issues, thyroid, neurological
What do TCA antagonise?
Tricylic antidepressants
Blocks reuptake of NA -> increase NA
Blocks alpha 1 adrenoceptors, muscarinic receptors-> atropine like effects-> anti SLUD
Blocks Histamine 1-> sedation and Histamine 2
