Communication is the transfer of information between the sender and receiver.

Helps manager to inform staff of business objectives -> helps to provide employees with greater direction
External communication
Inform other key stakeholders about important info e.g. senior manager need to communicate with shareholder regarding the performance of business and its ability to provide a return on investment in the future
Delegation
The passing of authority and responsibility from a manager to employee to achieve objectives
Planning
The ability to set objectives and determine the strategies to achieve them.

The shared values and beliefs of the people within a business.
Official corporate culture
The shared values and beliefs a business desires.
Real corporate culture
Refers to the underlying (actual) values and beliefs and behaviours of the people within the business.
