To convey meanings with minimum drawing
Hidden views are shown with hidden lines (short, evenly spaced dashes) Alternate positions- phantom lines (light, alternating long dashes and two short dashes) Center lines- (alternating long and short dashes)
Revision block in corner of drawing
Solid lines. Provide accurate dimensions for the size of the object
Allowance- difference between the nominal dimension and the minimum and maximum permissible sizes Tolerance- Difference between the two extreme permissible dimensions (add the plus and minus dimensions)
Allowable dimension between two parts
