Jeppesen Oral- Chapter 1 (Math) Flashcards
Result is a smaller positive number (same as ignoring signs and subtracting smaller number from larger number)
Divide the numerator by the denominator
Find the lowest common denominator
Invert the divisor and multiply the numerators together and the denominators together
Multiply the decimal by 100 and add the percent sign. Move the decimal two places to the right
Convert it into a decimal, and then move the decimal two places to the right
Multiply the decimal by the desired denominator. The result result becomes the numerator in the fraction
- As a fraction 2. Placing a colon
A statement of equality between two or more ratios
Two or more equal smaller numbers that when multiplied together, equal a specified number
Multiply the number by itself. 4x4=16
Convert the numbers into scientific notation using powers of 10
10 to the 4th power
A= LxW A=1/2 BxH
A constant that expresses the relationship between circumference of a circle and its diameter 3.14
A closed four-sided figure having two parallel sides, and two sides that are not parallel
pi x r squared or 2pi R
Pi (π) is the constant amount the circumference of a circle is greater than its diameter.
A number that is less than 0
A fraction that compares one number to another; for example 6:2 is a ratio.
The result is a smaller positive number, and is the same as ignoring the signs and subtracting the smaller number from the larger number.
You invert the divisor and multiply the numerators together and the denominators together.
(1) as a fraction (2) By placing a colon (:) between the two numbers (3) By using the word “to” between the two numbers
A statement of equality between two or more ratios.
Convert the numbers into scientific notation by using powers of 10.
