They understand that….Turn off TV = Bed time. Keys+suitcase = solitude. Road turn offs to specific places.
How can we conclude that dogs have a special ability to read human gestures?
Have been compared to wolves and chimps and prove to read human gestures more readily than them. Also better than hand-reared wolves = Not due to experience with human.
Can dogs do imitation learning?
Most people say no, put a few researchers claim they can learn it.
What is true imitation learning?
Imitation = Replicating behavior after one viewing.
What would not be considered imitation?
Can’t be fixed action pattern(FAP) like barking, urinating, chasing. Can’t be intense handling of thing/spot via intense activity. Individual trying for some time vs one that gets it right right away. Not imitation if it helps to watch the more skilled one? Behavior must be novel. OC must be ruled out.
How are dogs different from us regarding imitation?
Don’t have general imitate module, we do. Imitation is a huge thing in primates who are very visual creatures.
What ahs been proven with dogs regarding routa taking?
Do have module for route taking. Take demonstrated route to toy for ex.
