Javelin Directed Study Flashcards
The Javelin System consists of :
Command Launch Unit
All-Up-Round (AUR) consisting of:
Launch Tube Assembly (LTA)
Battery Coolant Unit (BCU)
Missile
Javelin Phases of Operation
CLU preparation, cool down and standby
Activate AUR
Track target
Launch
Flight control
Warhead detonation
How long must the Fire Trigger must be held for?
The gunner squeezes and holds the CLU Fire Trigger switch to initiate launch of the missile. The Fire Trigger must be held for a minimum of 400 ms.
(what what) is measured from the missile (what) and (what) safe (what) between gunner and (what) if (what). This (what) is between (what) and (what). Specifically, the (what) double (what) the missile (what) and (what)(what) is declared at (what) meters.
SAFE SEPARATION is measured from the missile acceleration and minimum safe distance between gunner and warhead if detonated. This window is between 0.75 and 1.8 seconds. Specifically, the ESAF double integrates the missile acceleration and SAFE SEPARATION is declared at 41.5 meters.
What are the four methods of operation of the CLU?
