Visual Holding of VFR Aircraft
When it becomes necessary to hold VFR aircraft visual holding fixes, what do you do?
> clear aircraft to hold at selected, prominent geographical fixes which can be easily recognized from the air, preferably those depicted on sectional charts
> issue traffic info to aircraft cleared to hold at the same fix
HOLD AT (location) UNTIL (time or other condition)
TRAFFIC (description) HOLDING AT (fix, altitude if known)

PROCEEDING TO (fix) FROM (direction or fix)

Holding at GFK VOR shall be limited to:
050 MLS or above for IFR aircraft and 045 for VFR aircraft when GFK tower has automatic releases

Holding is not permitted over the GFK VOR lower than:
050 MSL for IFR or 045 for VFR aircraft when GFK tower has automatic releases.
