INTERSECTING RUWNAY OPERATIONS Flashcards
(5-8-3)
Radar Departures {Successive or Simultaneous Departures}
Separate aircraft departing from the same airport/heliport or adjacent airports/heliports in accordance with the following minima provided radar identification with the aircraft will be established within:
1 miles of the takeoff runway end/helipad and courses will diverge by 15 degrees or more.
(GFK LOA: 12(all)
Intersecting Runway Procedures
(Applicable when RWYs 27R/L or 9L/R are in use)
RWY restrictions:
>RDR and ATCT must not issue RWY 35L/17R to:
Small aircraft (weighing 41,000 pounds or less maximum certified takeoff weight) unless the pilot states that an operational requirement exists.
(5-8-3)
Radar Departures {Successive or Simultaneous Departures}
Between aircraft departing the same runways/helicopter takeoff courses separated by less than 2,500’:
> 1 mile if courses diverge by 10 degrees
OR
10 degrees or more when both aircraft are departing the same runway and both are flying an RNAV SID
(GFK LOA: 12(all)
Intersecting Runway Procedures
(Applicable when RWYs 27R/L or 9L/R are in use)
RWY restrictions:
If the pilot of a small aircraft requests RWY 35L/17R, RDR (arrivals) and ATCT (departures) must verify that:
An operational requirement exists.
DO YOU NEED RUNWAY (35L/17R) FOR OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS?

Intersecting Runway Procedures
(Applicable when RWYs 27R/L or 9L/R are in use)
Arrivals must be handled in the following manner/order:
RDR must APREQ all arrivals to RWY 35L/17R with:
ATCT OS/CIC
