History of Assyria doing a blitzkrieg from the north. Syria and Israel try to get Judah to join their alliance. Ahaz refuses but actually pacts with Assyria (against the Lord’s direction) and they almost get taken out as the army gets to Nob just outside of Jerusalem. They had to pay heavy tribute as well.
