A
Recurrent abdominal pain/discomfort for at least 3 days per month for the last 3 months, associated with two or more of the following symptoms:
- Pain relieved by defecation
- Onset of pain associated with change in bowel frequency
- Onset of of pain associated with change in stool appearance

- FBE
- Coeliac serology
- TFTs
- Stool culture
- Endoscopy
- Hydrogen breath testing
- Urea breath test

Management of IBS (3)
A
- Increase fibre and probiotics
- Stress/psych management
- Medications: hyoscine, mebeverine, antidepressants
