How is IBS treated?

A
  1. conservative
    - patient education and reassurance
    - more/less fibre, avoid caffeine
  2. moderate
    - ibs-c - laxatives
    - ibs-d- antimotility drug
  3. severe
    - TCA + consider CBT/GI referral
