What is Haemodilution?
a decrease in the proportion of red blood cells relative to the plasma, brought about by an increase in the total volume of plasma.

Intravenous (IV) cannulation is a technique in which a cannula is placed inside a vein to provide venous access.

What are Standing Orders?
A standing order is a written instruction issued by a medical practitioner or dentist. It authorises a specified person or class of people (eg, paramedics, registered nurses) who do not have prescribing rights to administer and/or supply specified medicines and some controlled drugs. They are different for each ward, usually on a poster in the office, and can be administered in two consecutive doses before needing to be prescribed.
