Introduction To Peds Flashcards
Gentile’s taxonomy of tasks
Stability->mobility
- Body stability- with or without object manipulation-with or without changes in inertia (variable or constant speed/direction)
- Body transport- with or without object manipulation-with or without changes in inertia (variable or constant speed/direction)
Dynamic Systems Theory
Considers the interaction of neurologic and psychologic systems and the social environment for development of motor function
Developmental Systems Theory
Interactions between factors such as genetics, biology, the physical and social environments and culture.
Ecocultural Theory
Children develop a sense of well-being when engages with engagement in ongoing routines and activities with family and caregivers within those “cultures.”
Transactional Theory
Development is a function of interaction among the child, family and environment with all three elements.
What are the levels of Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory?
Microsystem: Individual
*mesosystem: Immediate family, childcare center or school, neighborhood play area
Exosystem: extended family, friends and neighbors, workplace, community health services
Macro system: Values, laws, customs
Dynamic stress
Short term and reparable
